A Hotel with Art

The Art Gallery Hotel in Haifa is a recently refurbished and modest establishment which bills itself as a "boutique hotel." Located just opposite the offices of the Chevra Kadisha (burial society), in a working class part of Haifa, near a food market where Russian and Sephardic and Moslem Israelis have stalls side by side.

The hotel is themed around its displays of work by local artists.

As per its name, the hotel has numerous works hanging or placed along its corridors, foyer, and stairwells. On the roof of the hotel, overlooking Haifa Port and the Mediterranean are the iron statues of Jacque Jano -  buildings, ships, synagogues, trees, letters and maps of Israel, typical elements in his personal language.
